About Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz

Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz is chief dramatic adviser at the Volksoper Vienna.
Between September 2013 and autumn 2016 Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz was the artistic director of the festival "Theatersommer Haag". 

Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz, the artistic director of "Schlossfestspiele Langenlois" in 2020, will be responsible for the 25th-anniversary production.

He plans, writes, designs, and presents soirees, matinees, and lectures on significant topics, works, and characters of opera, operetta, and musical.

He also develops musical specials for radio and television which he presents himself.

Christoph fills his audience with enthusiasm by demonstrating his charm, wit, and a thorough understanding of the “musical theatre universe”. As host, conférencier, and actor of these evenings and events Christoph is equally at home on all stages of the world (Volksoper Vienna, Staatsoper Vienna, Salzburger Festspiele, Berliner Staatsoper, Bregenzer Festspiele).

Christoph presents the radio broadcast of the New Year´s Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic.

The author Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz is well known in the German-speaking world through his numerous publications.

With his book “Es grünt so grün … – Musical an der Volksoper” he has created a new standard reference work that shows the musical-metropolis of Vienna in the spirit of Marcel Prawy. He is also regularly active as a (song) writer and translator.
