Curriculum Vitae

Born on June 18th, 1962 in Vienna. Father of two daughters (Alina and Emilia).
Studied musicology, political science and Romance languages and literature in Vienna, Graduation ceremony to become Mag. phil in 1989.
Alongside his studies, he worked at the ORF (radio) and also as an actor, author, and comedian (i. a. Kabarett Niedermeier, Graumanntheater, Theater beim Auersperg, Kabarett Simpl).

1986-90 Employee at the artists’ agency Raab & Böhm
1988-92 Member of the board / general secretary of the “Freunde der Wiener Staatsoper”
1993-2001 Member of management at the Wiener Staatsoper
1993-96 Chief press officer at the Wiener Staats- and Volksoper
1996-2001 Chief dramatic adviser at the Wiener Staatsoper
2001-03 Free-lance showmaster, author, exhibition designer/curator, and culture manager
Since 2003 Chief dramatic advisor, member of management at the Volksoper Wien. Fields of activity: artistic projects, planning, soirées, dramaturgy, public relations
Between September 2013 and autumn 2016 Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz was the artistic director of the festival "Theatersommer Haag". 

Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz, the artistic director of "Schlossfestspiele Langenlois" in 2020, will be responsible for the 25th-anniversary production.
